Let the Sparkle out – Grey hair update

I have done it, after a year of two, three and more tone hair, I have settled on a natural brown with some sparkly chunks. To be honest I didn’t see the very solid grey streak coming at all, even though the grey has always been more prominent at the front, usually from before a week after dyeing it, the glow would begin shining through.  I saw this as a bad thing and ended up dyeing my hair almost monthly,  sorry hair. I think the year it has taken has been a good thing in hindsight, getting used to the colour coming (or lack of it), then being more and more keen to see the natural end result.  If the decision was taken to stop dyeing and within a week or a month, everything was in it’s grey glory, I think the shock of the intense colour change might not be for the faint-hearted.  Even the peek within a couple of months can be quite alarming, but I think that is mainly because of …

3/52 Weekly Photos 2014

I didn’t take many photos this week, the photo a day prompts and a few randoms. So here are the randoms! This was one of the choices for the ‘black and white’ prompt for Wednesday’s photo. I used a different one, but I like the sun flare in this one. Talking of the sun, here it is rising through the trees on our way to school. The sewing machine came out this week to try out a bag pattern I have designed. It has given me lots more ideas for bags now!  Sew sew sew. Yesterday I tried out a S’mores Brownie recipe which is  yums!  It made more than I thought it would, I wonder if it will freeze?  Can you freeze cooked marshmallows?  I might be about to find out. Both of my kids have the flu, so today has been filled with watching ‘Wild Kratts’ and ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’, drinking lots of water and moaning and groaning.  I hope everyone in your house is healthy.

Thursday selfie

It’s a rainy one today, but I am still trying to use my proper camera on manual, so I grabbed my teeny tripod and figured out the self timer and here I am.  Hello! I am wearing some CatsEatDogs wrap bracelets and a wood on leather necklace. By the way, I cannot believe that I haven’t run out of blog steam during National Blog Post Month, but onward I continue and now I am over half way.  I am rather proud! I hope the weather is better with you.  Happy Thursday!

Thursday selfie

I think it was Courtney at Click it Up a Notch who suggested a regular self portrait for the Project 365 challenge.  So I allocated Thursday as my selfie day.  A decision I question today as I have a cold and I am wearing my crazy heart covered sweatshirt. I know, I know, if you are planning a photo of yourself why put on your most bonkers sweatshirt?  Surely put on your most lovely outfit?   This morning my goal was to be dressed to get Bodhi  to school and keep warm and I have heard that PJ’s are not an acceptable choice, unless you are a high school student (then it appears to be the rules). So, here I am au natural.  Well if you ignore the funky finish on the photobooth photos courtesy of IncrediBooth.  I like the ‘bokeh’ (funny little lights) all over my face and I could have totally got away with the bad sweatshirt choice because you can’t see it.  Oh well, now the secret is out! At least I …

‘A Beautiful Mess’ 30 day self portrait challenge

The 30 day self portrait challenge is done and dusted and it was a hard one.  I admit to some artistic license on some, but they are all me! Taking pictures of yourself on a daily basis is weird, vain (there I said it) and frankly a bit boring, after all, not much changes.  Having said that, it was a fun challenge and I made it to the end! Thanks to the A Beautiful Mess girls for throwing it down!
