Snow Day!

We got woken at 5.35am by a phone call from the school district to say that all of the district schools were closed today.  Snow Day!  We really didn’t get that much snow, so I am not sure why we had the day off, but I heard no complaints in my house. First job was to clear the drive and sidewalk, then off to explore! I took my camera into the garden to see what I could see. A shallow layer of snow was on everything from seed pods to the old Radio Flyer wagon.

Art Dharling

A trip out with friends is always a joy, just us, no kids. We went to Laumeier Sculpture Park not far from us in St Louis. There are lots of great places to visit here and most are free, Laumeier is one of them. The sculptures are all striking and the place was empty, so I got lots of snaps with no extra people in them! The day started cloudy and of course I have to take a ton of photos and I prefer a blue sky.  Never fear,  as we got there,  the sun came out and I couldn’t have asked for a prettier sky.  A chilly day with a magnificent blue sky, just what I like!  I prefer the cold to the heat, a scarf in the winter sunshine is ideal.  St Louis summers are a hot humid sweaty affair which I would like to avoid.  At least the houseplants like the summer on the porch I suppose. Do you like day trips?  Where do you go?  Any recommendations?  Do you prefer Summer …

Brain melt and ten on the 10th. December 2012

What a strange day today has been. Too grey to tell what time it is, felt like 4pm all day. Cold to the bone cold, cold legs through jeans, make your eyes run and cheeks freeze cold. A lots to do and nothing done day, my list remains complete with no crossings out. I have done lots I needed to but also not done lots I wanted to. I found a present bought about September, for Christmas. A bargain of bargains. And forgotten. I nearly bought another one!  Maybe being organised for Christmas early is not such a good idea for me!                                                                                                                         I did manage to take ten photos on the 10th though! Stamping and teepee building

We took a walk to ArtMart this morning after a brekkie of ‘Nate the Great’ (recipe from the books) pancakes and bacon. I have an urge to make my own stamps so that I can stamp little catseatdogs logos wherever I please. I also want to make a star shaped stamp for making Christmas cards, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves! Here is the kit I bought, I haven’t delved into it yet, but I have established that it is not a toy! So anyone who knows anything about using these, feel free to share tips! I am looking forward to using my stamps, but I am doubting my ability to successfully manufacture one and keep all of my fingers intact. I will be sure to keep you updated! While we were out, I spotted these Peppermint White Chocolate M&Ms. A couple of bags later, off home to try them. Do I want more or will they be too sweet? Munch munch munch munch munch munch munch munch…..munch munch munch….smell nice..taste…yyuummmm!  I mean, they …
