Gone Grey Girl.

My hair is almost all ‘natural’ now, only about half an inch of colour left at the ends of my fringe.  Last time I got it cut, I nearly went shorter just to get the dye out, but decided to wait a little longer and keep the style I like.  I snapped a few polaroids today to show you where the grey is. It is fascinating to see the grey allocation, the back is pretty much all brown and the front is all Cruella Deville. So how am I feeling about it?  Reaching for the dye yet?  I am absolutely not going to be dyeing it anytime soon, I would predict that I will never dye it all over again.  I am tempted to have a little crazy colour in there though, a spot of blue or purple maybe.  It is white for goodness sake, the blank page on my head, waiting for a little colour!  I am rather happy with the hefty chunks of grey/white, I quite like them.   I am also …

What I am wearing on this Autumn day.

I bought a new long cardigan this week, so I thought I would share it with you!  Boots and socks are favourite and long cardigans are too. Long cardi’s are just right for the cooler but not freezing weather and I am sure I can add a scarf, a hat and some gloves when it gets cold. Did someone say scarf? I got this scarf because it makes me think of old fashioned travel blankets like the ones my Grandma and Grandad kept in their red Mini.   It could also be worn as a lovely shawl as it is pretty big, but it is lightweight, soft and warm and I love it.  In order to make it look less like a blanket, I grabbed a corner to make it diagonal before putting it on.  This gives a cascade effect rather than a solid look. What are your Autumn favourites?  Can you believe how grey my hair is?  Honestly, I can’t, I don’t hate it, but I was a little taken aback at my own …

Growing into Grey.

How is my grey grow out going? I am pleased you asked, because here is a little grey grow out update.   I have about 6cm of natural hair colour proudly marching over my head which I suppose I could get cut shorter to loose the dyed red ends altogether.  But I think I am going to keep the style I have and not go all Jamie Lee Curtis on my hair. Her hair is nice, but I don’t want it that short. Not that short and grey anyway. I have had very short hair before, so I wonder why I don’t want to go short again and get rid of the faded red dye? Answers on a postcard please… Maybe because that is the archetypal grey look, apart from the granny curls followed by a blue rinse.  Or a purple rinse.  You don’t see many blues and purple rinses about in the grey set any more do you?  Maybe I should bring it back,  I fancy a purple rinse but hold the perm please. …
