Updating my blogroll

I have added a few blogs to my blogroll today as I realized that some of the ones I read lots are missing.  I also picked some fab posts I have found today.  Take a look. I want to make one of these felt coffee cup cozies Always wondered what to do with extra confetti?  Lots of good ideas here .  I like 16 and 17 best. Baked donuts have to be good for you don’t they? Let’s try this test to see what magic we can find in colour.  My test score was 29, and nearly sent my eyes squiffy! Who doesn’t need a printable book to record ideas in. Finally this is a heart lifting and encouraging post as I wade into National Blog Post Month (NaBloPoMo). I also picked you a bunch of Autumn colour.  See how nice I am!  Happy Wednesday, I hope your sun is shining bright.

The Liebster Award

I love an award!  Even one which makes me work, like this one.  Answer questions, make up questions, nominate other blogs. The blogs I nominate are supposed to be fabulous of course, but not have a trillion billion readers – yet. Great idea I hear you cry and I agree, but I can’t tell how many readers a blog has, apart from the mega blogs. ‘Liebster’ means ‘darling’ (or dearest) in German and who doesn’t want to officially be a darling blog!  In the many evolutions of the rules, the ‘amount of readers’ rule has gone from ‘3000 or less’ to ‘200 or less’, stopping off at ‘1000 or less’  for a tea break on the way. Same with the amount of blogs to nominate – 11? 10? 7? 5? I was nominated by the lovely Kimmy at Making Mondays (great blog, go see….in a minute, I’m not done!).   She blogs about all kinds of wonderfulness,  and good grief I need to make these right now! I have copied the rules as they were …

Blogging is fab!

I have been blogging properly for a year now, so here I am going to share why I still am doing it and enjoying it.  When I say ‘properly’ I mean regularly I suppose, I actually started a blog over a year ago, but I only wrote when I thought I had something to say.  Now I just babble on about anything three or four times a week.  Lucky lucky you! I must say the regularity has been a good thing and I remember reading somewhere when I started to blog that even if you blog weekly, that is enough.  I disagree totally with this, people don’t come and read and join in when there is nothing new.  I don’t over examine my numbers, but it is clear when I haven’t written for a day or two as lovely readers don’t come to play until I write a new post.  I also try to have a bit of a blog schedule, so with any luck you might get a Halloween post before October 29th when …

First Birthday Today!

I have had this blog for a whole one year.  A whole entire year, keeping at it through the struggles (mainly technical) and the joys (everytime I get a like or a comment, I give a little joyful squeak!).   It has been a very fulfilling year and I have loved working on this blog and improving and building on it. When I started I was flapping around like a fish out of it’s bowl.  Looking back at the castle and weed inside with the water and me outside wondering how to get in.  Gradually I began to swim about again and get to know my castle and the weeds surrounding it.  My fish water has become clearer and clearer in my bloggy fishbowl. I have to thank Pip Lincolne’s JustB blog school and  my fellow students for really boosting me along with the blog.   Sarah at Home to Roost and Lou at Make Do Sew have been constant companions and we all encourage each other with every step. When I first saw Home to Roost, …
